Our Environmental Policy :: Self Catering Accommodation Galway

We at Riverside Paradise are working to become a more eco-friendly destinations, but we need your help. We can all reduce our impact on the environment by making choices. As a visitor you have a very important role to play in helping us to become a more sustainable destination.

At Riverside Paradise we are trying to do ‘our bit’ by shopping locally, sourcing organic food, recycling, and using energy saving devices and reducing our waste output.

Reduce energy usage

Reduce energy by switching off lights, en suite lights/extractor fans when not in use and closing windows if the heating is on.

Give the car a rest

Leave the car behind, if only for a day. Walk, cycle or use public transport. If you need help or advice, just ask.

 outside

Shop Local

Use local products, they give you a flavour of the area and help support local communities. We are fortunate to have some fantastic producers of food, drink and arts and crafts. Ask us about local markets or local and regional produce

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Please support us in our efforts to recycle .Place all general waste items in the red bin in the utility room and when it is full remove it to the Black bins outside. All recycle items go into the Cream bin in the utility room and when full go into the Blue bin outside. All Food items please place them in our composter unit outside. All bottles must be taken to the Bottle Bank in Banagher Town.

Water Wise

Please use water wisely, e.g. by turning off the tap when brushing your teeth or not in use. Use showers instead of baths. At Riverside Paradise all plants and lawns in our gardens are watered directly from the river at the rear of the house.

The Environment

Help us to look after the landscape and wildlife by not littering, guarding against fire and using footpaths and cycle-ways responsibly.

Finally, if you feel there is anything else we could be doing to reduce our environmental impact please let us know.  We realise that there is room for improvement, but we hope that we are on the right track

….and most importantly have a great time when you are here- we’d like you to come back!
